Shengang Township lies on the northwest corner of Changhua County. It neighbors Taiwan Strait to the west and adjoins Hemei Township to the east. Tatu River lies in the north just opposite to LungJing Township in the north. It connects Siansi Township to the south, in a site of wind head and water end. So enriched in agricultural and fishing resources, it is known as the “natural and grand granary”. |
Leisurely and scenic spots
Tatu River Bird & Nature Park
The Park lies in the reclaimed tidal land west of Shengang Township. The future resources of the Park will be developed with care of both nature preservation and development to maintain balanced natural ecology. This will assure sound preservation of the national territories.
At Tatu Estuary, there are more than 235 species of birds found, including a minimum of twenty-one endangered species (Source: Tatu Estuary Wild Bird Society). The Park is virtually an experimental farm to build into an artificial habitat to provide fields and sites to study birds, wildlife, plants and ecological environmental protection. It is an optimal site for leisurely recreation.
